Pushkar Lake Rajasthan is one of the most colorful states of India. The beautiful dessert, forts and palaces of this state attracts travelers from all around the world. Pushkar Lake
The sacred Pushkar Lake is located in the holy Pushkar town. In the lap of magnificent Aravali hills, it is surrounded by 52 bathing ghats, where a number of pilgrims take sacred bath. On the full moon day thousands of devotees take a dip in the lake. It is believed that on this auspicious day just a dip in the lake implies, washing away all the sins. People have faith that the water of the lake has magical healing properties. Around this holy lake more than 500 Hindu temples are situated. Also the world famous Pushkar fair is held at Pushkar lake.

Pichola Lake
Surrounded by the beautiful hills, Pichola is located in the palace city of India ,Udaipur. Maharaja Udai Singh mesmerized by its immense beauty decided to widen this lake. After him Maharaja Jagjit Singh also started the construction of two amazing island palaces in the center of this lake. They were named Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir. They are the added attraction to the beauty of Pichola. There is also a dam built on this lake. This dam named Badipol is about 4 km long and 3 km wide. Pichola lake is not very deep and when there is less water here one can even walk to these island palaces. On the eastern bank of this lake the magnificent City Palace is situated along with temples made of marble. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the sunset while taking a boat ride in the Pichola Lake.

Ana Sagar Lake:
This lake is located on the northern side of the holy city of Ajmer. It is one of the most majestic man-made lake of Rajasthan. This lake was constructed in the 12th century under the supervision of Maharaja Anaji Chauhan after whom it was named. It was constructed by building a dam on the Luni river in 1135-1150 AD. In the later years Jehangir who was a Mughal emperor ordered the construction of the Daulat Bagh Gardens which added charm to the beauty of this lake. Shah Jahan also built a marble pavilion here which was named Baradari. It is an added attraction of this amazing lake. The calm and tranquil environment of Ana Sagar makes it an ideal destination to spend your holidays away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded cities. They are also a popular picnic spot.

Fateh Sagar Lake
Fateh Sagar Lake Udaipur Built in the year 1678 this serene lake is situated to the north of Pichola in Udaipur. It was constructed under the guidance of Maharaja Jai Singh and was initially used as a storage reservoir. The is lake is surrounded by the hills from the three sides and Pratap memorial on the other side giving this place its immense beauty. In today's times it is one of the biggest source of the drinking water of this city. It was named after Maharaja Fateh Singh. Enjoy the scenic view of this amazing lake while driving along the eastern banks. Take a boat ride to get close the three islands made on this lake. This lake is connected to Pichola through a canal that have many gates. Fateh Sagar is shaped like a pear and it is very rare to see any vegetation in the nearby area.

Gadsisar Lake:
The only source of the drinking water of the Jaisalmer city Gadisisar is a place that is worth watching. In 1156 it was built as a reservoir to collect the rain water. It was rebuilt in the year 1367 under the supervision of Maharaja Garsi Singh. There is an interesting myth associated with this lake. In the earlier times there was courtesan named Tilon who requested the King to make an archway to add to the beauty of this lake. But the King refused to do so. When the King was away she some how managed to built the archway. She also built a small temple on the top so that the King could not destroy it. Today it is known as the Tilon Ki Pol and is a true charm of this lake. There are also small temples located at the banks of this lake. One can also see some of the migratory birds at this lake.
