Mehrangarh Fort Museums:
Mehrangarh Fort is situated in Jodhpur city of Rajsthan. It is one of the largest forts of India, which is now converted into a museum. It is located at the top of a hill at a height of 150 meters. This museum is one of the finest as well as the most well stocked museums of Rajsthan. It contains the rare collection of old royal palanquins. The museum exhibits the heritage of the Rathores, their costumes, arms, paintings and even decorated rooms of that era. Phool Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Daulat Khana, Moti Mahal and Sileh Khana are the major attractions of the museum.
Umaid Bhavan Palace Museum:
Located in the Umaid Bhavan Place this museum is the best place to see the things that people of royal family loved. This museum contains a wide variety of objects that were used by the royal family. The items that are displayed here includes the weapons used in the fights, the fantastic crockery used by the Maharaja, glass ware and china ware materials, fancy clocks that are from the Queen Victoria's collection, several trophies and some stuffed animals. Even a few model planes are also displayed in this museum. Tourist can visit this museum every day from 8.30 AM to 5.30 PM.
Maharaja Sawai Man Singh ll Museum
People know this museum as the King of all the museums that are located in the Jaipur city. It is located in the complex of City Palace and was built in 1959. The items that are displayed here were once owned by the rulers of Amer and Jaipur. The are the symbol of the glorious bygone era. There are three main sections in this museum where various royal items are displayed. In the textile section one can see the beautiful dresses that were once worn by the Kings and Queens. In the armoury section several weapons are exhibited. The last section belongs to art where various paintings and chariots are kept for the exhibition. It is open from 9.30 AM to 5.00 PM everyday.
Albert Hall Museum:
This museum was built keeping in mind the models of Victoria and Albert Hall of London. It is the oldest museum of this state. By visiting this museum one can peep into the lifestyle of the people of this amazing state. While visiting Albert Hall Museum one can see the different items made of metal ware, decorative ware. Along with it also watch the various miniature paintings, sculptures, paintings of the royal family, their costumes, pottery, and wooden items. Many things that belong to the tribal castes of Rajasthan are also kept on exhibition here. The main attraction of this museum is the Egyptian Mummy that has been put on the display here. Visitors can come here everyday between 9.30 AM to 4.30 PM.
Central Museum of Jaipur: Central Museum of Jaipur is the oldest museum of the Indian heritage state of Rajasthan. It is located in the famous Ram Niwas Garden. The museum itself reflects one of the finest examples of Indo-Saracenic architecture. In 1887 it was opened for the public and now has the large collection of metal objects, used for domestic purpose. Also here you can see a huge collection of miniature paintings from Udaipur, Bundi, Jaipur, Kota and Kishangarh school of paintings. Central Gallery is the major attraction of the museum, which is totally dedicated to the dances and music of Rajsthan. Different sections of museum like art, paintings, industry, carpets, armony, toys, dolls and textiles also attract the visitors.
Crystal Gallery:
To see the largest collection of the crystal objects a visit to Crystal gallery is a must. This gallery is located in the City Palace complex in Udaipur. Maharaja Sajjan Singh once visited Calcutta and he fell in love with the crystal showroom of the city. When he came back he decided to have the same Crystal gallery for himself. He ordered a London based company to make a Crystal gallery for him. But he died for the completion of this gallery. The magnificent crystal items like bottles, trays, crockery, candle stand and glasses can been seen on the display here. Even a big sofa set, dinning table and fountains made of crystal are exhibited here.
Fateh Prakash Palace Museum:
Established in the year 1968 this museum is located in the Chittaurgarh Fort. Fateh Prakash museum is mainly known for its collections of sculptures. The most popular of all these sculptures is the statue of Lord Ganesha which belongs to the time period of 8-9th century. Even the statues of Indira and Jain Ambica of the medieval period can also be seen here. Besides sculptures one can also see the collection of various armoury items and the clay models of the tribal people wearing traditional costumes.
